Mission and Goals

The mission of the Pemberville Public Library is to provide the residents of the School District with intellectual and leisure resources that will enrich their lives and create “community.”

Goal 1: Optimizing Assets

To analyze current policies, procedures, services, and
programs to ensure they are effective.

Objectives:

  • Review and update policies and procedures to improve internal library culture and services to library patrons.
  • Evaluate new and innovative programs for effectiveness and enjoyment.

Goal 2: Satisfy Curiosity: Programming

To expand programming and increase the diversity of programs.

Objectives:

  • Expand on programming for tweens and teens and connect with them inside and outside the library.
  • Increase program opportunities at branches.

Goal 3: Emerging Technology

To provide library patrons a place to create, innovate, and experiment using new and emerging technologies.

Objectives:

  • Improve awareness of the MakerSpace, technology services, and STEM Kits provided.
  • Evaluate the current library website and update landing pages to make it more accessible and easier to navigate.

Goal 4: Know Your Community

To be a gathering and meeting place for people in the community to enjoy the services and collections available to
them.

Objectives:

  • Identify ways to partner with other local organizations to help spread awareness of local events and services.
  • Improve communication with our communities by establishing a newsletter to promote library programs, services, and local events.
  • Make sitting areas more comfortable.
