Notary

As part of our commitment to serving the community, the Pemberville Public Library System provides notary public services. Our staff notaries are available to help you authenticate your important documents. Please see details below and contact your local library location for availability.
- Availability:
- We currently have two staff notaries that rotate between our three locations.
- Walk-ins are welcome, but to ensure a notary is available when you visit, please call your preferred library location in advance.
- Requirements
- Valid photo ID. The name on the ID must exactly match the name on the document
- Documents can be filled out, but they must be unsigned.
- If your document requires a witness, we recommend you bring your own. The library cannot guarantee the availability of a witness.
- All parties, including witnesses, must appear in person.
Limitations: Please note that the Pemberville Public Library System's notary service does not extend to complex legal documents or those that, in our judgment, may pose a legal risk to the notary or the Library.
These include:
- Vital records or certified copies (e.g., birth certificates)
- Real estate documents (mortgages, refinances, deeds)
- Immigration-related documents
- Wills, Trusts, Living Wills, Codicils
- Documents in languages other than English
- Notary protests
- Documents requiring special legal expertise
