Need an Internet connection? Check out a hotspot for one week from any of our locations. Connect up to eight devices to the hotspot at one time. The hotspots use T-Mobile networks for data. Perfect for a working at home or taking on a family vacation. Pemberville, Stony Ridge, and Luckey branch libraries all have three hotspot kits. Call the library to make a reservation.

Guidelines:

Each patron must sign a form stating they will follow a set of guidelines before a hotspot will be checked out to them. This form will have to be filled out each time a hotspot is checked out.

Those guidelines can be found below:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must present a valid library card in good standing (less than $5 fines/fees) with current address on file at the time of checkout along with a valid Driver’s License/State ID.
• Limit of ONE hotspot device per household.
• Agreement must be signed at the time of checkout.
• 5G LTE service is not guaranteed. The first 25 GB has 5G service, after that service may be reduced to 3G LTE.
• LOAN PERIOD: 7 days with no renewals. You must wait 1 week before checking out another hotspot device.

Restrictions:

• Hotspots are for domestic use only – devices will not function outside of the continental US.
• Hotspots must be returned to the library from which they were checked out with all original PPL components.
• Hotspots are NOT to be placed in library book drop. Any damage from doing so will be your responsibility for replacement costs.
• The library reserves the right to refuse service.
• Hotspots placed on hold must be checked out within 7 days from the date of notification.

Fines & Liability:

• Overdue fines: $1 per day
• Hotspots will be deactivated on the first day they are overdue.
• Hotspot device will go to LOST after 21 days late and you will be billed the total replacement cost of the device and all components. Library card will be blocked until all fees are paid.
• Hotspots are NOT eligible for fine forgiveness.
• Hotspots are to be kept in a temperature-safe environment; not left outdoors in direct sunlight or in vehicles.
• The Pemberville Public Library (PPL) is not responsible for websites visited on the Mobile Hotspot or any damage to patron devices.
• You will be responsible for any fees associated with the loss or damage of the Hotspot device and components.
• Patrons are not permitted to purchase or provide their own replacement items.
